Food bank struggling after oil prices, coronavirus triggers panic buying

Grocery store shortages and a drop in donations means some items will be missing from the Wood Buffalo Food Bank’s monthly hampers.

In a Thursdary interview, executive director Dan Edwards said panic buying across Wood Buffalo has left the food bank with a shortage of perishable items. Items such as meat, dairy and produce are usually provided by Fort McMurray’s grocery stores.
