The Wood Buffalo Food Bank is opening two temporary locations on May 4.
The food bank’s permanent location was forced to close after water flooded the building on Monday.
Anna Noble, spokesperson for the WBFB, said earlier this week that the water is roughly shoulder-height and has destroyed “thousands of dollars worth of food.”
“We’re looking at loss of computers, all that admin stuff on the bottom level and a lot of food,” she said. “All that food was sitting there getting quarantined and ready to be used, and now basically all of that will be lost.”
Everyone staying and living north of the bridge are asked to go to their Thickwood location at Fort City Church. It will be open Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. On Thursday, it will be open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Everyone south of the bridge are asked to visit the location in Gergoire at Golosky Landing. It will be open Monday to Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
